Four weeks on....

Apologies from the outset here....

Its been full on for us both with Nina's recovery and we've barely had a minute to spare so the blog has been left on the back burner
Here's my hurried attempt at an update....

Nina's recovery will of course be a very long one with her being unable to bear weight on her busted leg for three months
The photo above is from 23 Dec, the first day she was able to sit out of her hospital bed

Now look at her!
Her facial healing rate and muscular pain abatement have been remarkable given she could barely move in the hospital

So pleased to be home having survived the ordeal of a three man chair lift up the steps of the RV on Boxing Day with a view of the sea

Each morning she is greeted by the rising sun that gently warms her on her temporary bed in the front

Complete rest and recovery from now on...

The visits to the local clinic are odd to say the least but are now quite familiar
The nurses come out the clinic leaving the poor locals to wait their turn and redress/treat her injuries and we drop in to this now familiar routine
Its a bit of a pain having to make up the RV every few days to do this but tbh the treatment out here in Spain is second to none and we are very lucky to be receiving it

The Bleaching Boy in full swing...

This little girl, recently adopted by a nearby German guy pays a visit one day to cheer her up

Even Gus the rat gets in on the bedpan duties...

Even gets time for a spot of lunch, lucky rat!

Emilja & Richard fly out for a few days and this brings much cheer to Nina
They stay in the RV and occupy the rear whilst ....

we camp out in the front

Richard has a hire car and I'm taken out for a beer and some TV footie one evening whilst the Daughter/Mum bond gets under way

We also take the RV round to Bolnuevo after a clinic visit for a change of view for Nina and a very nice Menu del Dia (Nina had soup in the RV) at Elliots Cafe the owner of which is a guy called Kev
We get on really well, with him putting in an appearance at the bar the other night and helping us with obtaining a hire car locally for ourselves from his daughter's rental business in Bolnuevo

Emilja & Richard's visit really perks Nina up and they leave us knowing she will be OK
Its been a worrying time for them too so we are pleased they came

Goodies served up by the resident chef...

We are overwhelmed by the concerns and get well wishes of folks near and far and we go through a week or so visits from friends old and new
The RV lends itself perfectly to this with plenty of room to accommodate Ken, Silka & Olaf with me knocking up a curry

We are visited by Dorine & Rudy, our faithful Belgian friends and have on site support and friendship from Sue & Tom being just a few metres away

Juan, the owner, is as ever our trusted Spanish aide and without him we would have struggled immensely

At the time of posting I have to report that Nina has enjoyed her second night in her own bed thanks to sheer determination, some pain and a long shuffle along a cold tiled floor from the front to the back bedroom

I have a new MIFi device courtesy of Vodafone with grand 50gb to wade through each month on 4G which is like a leap in to another communication speed world

We have Netflix and we are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel

On 21 January we go via the hire car back to Cartagena hospital for Xrays and consultation so will probably post after that event

Such a lot has happened here in the past three weeks and this is only a quick update but thanks as ever to you guys out there who have not been mentioned here but are in touch with us and support us immensely
