Marvão

Next stop up is Vila Velha de Rodão with a very nice aire up from the huge reservoir where we spent a peaceful night after walking up to the village

Been a few years since I've seen one of these

Alive and very well it seems

The town is dominated by this carton producing plant with a toilet tissue plant next door
A boon for the local economy and miles from nowhere!

Who says romance is dead, a very good local wine and a bela vista
She's a lucky girl!

En route today something very pleasant happened…..the sun came out to play big time

These steps lead up to a lovely small chapel that overlooks Castelo de Vide

Our only excursion here was to the local supermarket for essentials so will visit another time

We eventually reach Marvão and are rewarded with a superb spot for the night

Right next to a convent….

Come out doctor!

The history of the town is massive to say the least mainly due to it being so close to the Spanish border which we'll cross in the coming week

Another day another hilltop castle but this is quite special with stunning views 360

The day was topped off nicely by spending the evening with Annette and Steve in their classic Hymermobil
Nice to chill with plain speaking, completely de-stressed fellow wanderers
