In late autumn we decide to invest in some private physio for Nina
Coming highly recommended we visit Oakwood Physiotherapy Practice in Bingham, Nottinghamshire and with the help of Ian and his trusted team embark Nina on a more positive road to recovery
This involves initially an extensive course of MBST Therapy
Magnetic Resonance delivered by what looks like half an MRI scanner, theory being calcium deposits from Nina's numerous fractures are reduced and healthy bone and cell tissue is regenerated
The HUGE side effect here is pain reduction and to date we can say this has worked tremendously
A year or so on and Nina once again finds herself lifted up in the airbag encompassing an Alter G Treadmill
With the guidance of Ryan, Mary and Josh she has come on beautifully with the use of this equipment
Various videos and a more in depth account of her progress can be viewed over on Instagram

Before yet another lockdown we take to packing sandwiches and a flask and having lunch at various places en route back from Bingham, an hour's drive away, this one being Gunthorpe Lock
As the sun sets earlier each afternoon my strolls get ever colder but conversely more beautiful
Chilly mornings are made warmer by the inclusion of whisky soaked sultanas in our porridge
Finally time to invest in new walking shoes, definitely had my money's worth there!
A nice surprise one day to hook up with Alan Henstock and take our bikes for a spin in to a very busy Peak District
Soon be Spring Al and we can RV more regularly...
The first taste of chilly days to come arrives and temperatures plummet
Buffs are ordered for him and her...
3.00pm over Riber
The 2nd Lockdown stuffed our plans for a cosy restaurant based 20th Wedding Anniversary in late November but we made up for it by having some hugely tasty fillet steaks courtesy of Maycocks Butchers and a 'few trimmings' in the RV
Mick, our host, finally gets around to fixing my waste hog with a top quality extension enabling me to catch my ankles on other items instead of the hog (the air is so much more cleaner now)
We manage to take the RV down to Suffolk for a week encompassing Christmas and a very pleasant day it was courtesy of Richard & Emilja
Lola suitably humiliated as per tradition
We were lucky to have the use of Emilja's car for our stay so took a few trips out one of which was to St Peter's Brewery at Bungay
Total bargain this....Christmas Ale and lurking on the mislabelled reduction shelf in the on site shop
A shelf that needed restocking once we'd left....
January arrives and with it some proper winter weather
Going nowhere but giving me personal mental pleasure if only at wash time
Far worse than last winter but hopefully our last here in the UK at this time of year
At time of posting us UK residents are in the 90/180 days EU non visa requirement visit category
It would be easy to chastise those fellow motorhomers who Voted Leave and now find themselves stuffed for extended stays overseas despite their naive reassurances to all around at the time that things wouldn't change....
Smell the coffee boys....
I guess 31 March 2021 will be an interesting day to observe ferry travel from France homeward bound
With so many UK overseas property owners now in a difficult situation and EU residents currently being able to visit the UK for a continuous 6 months I guess something will change soon
A simple online Tourist Visa application for extended stays in a particular country would seem a sensible option but of course this resolution is way down the line of impending UK/EU follow up negotiations
The leveller of course is the fact that Covid 19 means folk aren't going anywhere anytime soon with borders closed
Nina and myself will carry on with our lives to the best of our physical ability and legal limitations, touring and enjoying our time on the road to the max. We have so many plans as you can imagine after this long lay off and there are work arounds currently which may prove actually quite enjoyable
In the meantime try to stay calm, sane, be cheerful and spread some positivity.
Our personal 'Journey' is coming to an end and we look forward to happier times.....
