Cartagena

We do something quiet odd next by way of booking on to an enormous campsite south west of Alicante called Camping Marjal
Not our usual thing I know but the Aire we called at on route was almost full and poorly located so decided on a three day stay on a pitch big enough for two with services
Winter pricing meant it was doable, just, and its here we decided on purchasing an ACSI discount camping card for next year which would have seen a further discount for us.

The site itself was very clean with superb facilities and you can see why so many guys come to stay here all winter. The downside is its poorly located in our opinion with little to do locally and you have the constant noise from the adjacent motorway to contend with.
That said we got a lot done here, from having photos printed in a nearby town to getting all the washing done to

having a meal at Casa Harrys…

His entire family no doubt preserved for posterity on part of his wine collection

A friend of Harry on the next table gave us a tour of the cellar

Mick & Sharon, motorhome buddies of ours, come here regularly so it was a must for us to do too

Superb value and great service so this is firmly on next year's itinerary

Onwards down to Cartagena and we stay three nights on a smart little Aire with good facilities just out of town

We 'Fozz' it down to the marina and take an evening stroll through the shopping area

We are soon eating Tapas and trying the local speciality coffee

Apparently its Christmas soon, no hype here or Slade singing that awful song….

Had to be done...

A return trip the next day sees us treading the same ground as its so nice here

Up the Gunners!

Wow this was a surprise, we thought we'd ordered drinking chocolate but back came hot dipping chocolate sauce for those long pastries

Next day its chill day as Nina is under the weather and the sun is out.
I decide to grow a crane out of my head whilst barbecuing
