Mértola & Alcoutim

Off in to the hills this time and we visit Mértola seemingly in the middle of nowhere but of historic strategic importance along with Alcoutim

Onwards to Alcoutim and stunning views of Sanlúcar de Guadiana over the river in Spain
A ferry for foot passengers gets you there in no time but if you fancy driving there its a whopping 70km


My kinda diet...


We did the rather unimpressive castle tour…


Sitting atop Sanlúcar is the remains of San Marcos Castle

There were a few vans parked up here so we might return when ours is fixed
