A Month in Suffolk Part 2

The regular evening walk from the site takes me past this lovely gaff with custom gates perfect for someone close to home...

Choice of three strolls of differing lengths all take me past some impressive properties and beautiful countryside vistas

Sunset in the stubble....

The bike is out most days with me at the helm and off exploring the delights of the Suffolk B roads so loads to see, this time pigs....and lots of em!

A trip out one day to Bungay up near Lowestoft and on the strength of Kev's recommendation I trot along to St Peter's Brewery
I end up buying a good selection of their finest beers and then stuff them in the topcase and listen to them bouncing around behind me on the trip home

So many of these out now bringing in the wheat

A classic shot but couldn't resist it

As I bought the bike locally this time last year its now time to revisit the BMW Motorrad garage near Sudbury for its first service
The loan bike is an S1000XR complete with slick quickshifter and wicked acceleration. Big grin factor but not the bike for me as I'm more comfortable on the GS

The salesman's work transport which I fancied taking for the morning but alas not a demonstrator

A few hours later and I'm back on familiar wheels

RAF Mildenhall one sunny afternoon

The days are spent with physio at outside locations in the morning and then being told to ride the bike come most afternoons whilst Nina rests. Who could ask for anything more!

Non biking days are spent shopping, visiting Emilja and Richard or doing the essential jobs 'around the house'. This one is wheel polishing which involved a few days of elbow grease consumption

Replacing the winch that Sparky and me ended up buggering up

Fitting new pegs to the bike for better control...

Horrid bottle but stunning Lime laced spiced rum which was discovered in Morrisons of all places..

Bike beer

Those beauties from St Peter's which needed a second trip of course

The worst....

great!

The best and the source of huge disappointment when on the second beer gathering trip there they'd sold out....

So in the space of four weeks we manage to destress, see some of Suffolk and of course advance the healing of Nina before returning home to Derbyshire. A beautiful peaceful part of the world and somewhere we can go for a change of scene....

A Month in Suffolk Part 1

As soon as Boris lets the campsites and hotels open we relocate down to Thurston in Suffolk near to where Emilja and Richard live

Using our pitch to the full

We research and then seek out many Suffolk Trust nature sites in the locality to go do the physio most days

I'm liking my very basic Samsung S8 camera to the point where I'm considering offloading my conventional cameras, so easy to take decent photos and upload to Insta and the like...

Not long before we hit the local pub, the Fox & Hounds for our first pint back in Planet Reality

A stripped out pub and a one way system greets us on arrival

Top notch scran though as always here

Nearby Bury St Edmunds provides Blue Badge parking close to the Cathedral so easy to get out for the afternoons....

The loan of Emilja's car for the duration is a real bonus whilst she's working from home

Ipswich on Sea....😀😀

Nina's dad's birthday arrives and we spend the day with them back in Stamford which is around the halfway mark back home

Another trip to a pub this time the Four Horseshoes near Eye for a very nice early evening meal and a few beers...

Most days we take the car and out we go in to this beautiful area discovering new places to exercise Nina's improving leg. Still on crutches and in a lot of grief but not giving up and soldiering on....
