After a near 7 hours ferry crossing from Harwich to Hook of Holland which was quite pleasant we found ourselves in a very busy Dutch rush hour
We gave up on the Amsterdam idea this time as its near the weekend and after the rush and last minute hassle we had in the UK we just wanted to unwind and lose ourselves in the Dutch countryside.
The motorways I have to say are just superb although busy in the West. Our intended night stop was closely neighboured by a fun fair so decided to press on and stopped for a few days at De Haar Camperstop site near De Heurne on the Nl/De border. What a find this was! Just like a good CL back home and modern MH facilities like an "Aire" but with free Wi Fi to boot
After sleeping like several hundred "logs" we broke out the newly repaired bikes and headed for the hills, well, flat cycle paths that dominate the local countryside.
Easy peasy riding and really safe on dedicated tracks. Cycles are king here and bizarrely no one wears a helmet (including us)
Live rocking horse impression...
lots of this as ever leads....
to this...
Well I deserve it!
BTW over 7%, boom..
